Multiple Baptism

Five children were baptised on the same day: Elizabeth, James, Mary Jane, Emily and Ellen.

The reasons are unknown but typically would be that the family had changed parish and the vicar wanted to ensure all the children were baptised; the parents were previously dissenters and had returned to the established church, a dissenter parent had died and the remaining parent was established church, the family lived remotely.
